THESSALY, Thessalian League. Mid-late 1st century BC. AR Stater (20mm, 6.42 g, 1h). Kephalos and Themisto–, magistrates. Head of Zeus right, wearing oak wreath / ΘΕΣΣΑ-ΛΩΝ, Athena Itonia advancing right, holding shield and preparing to hurl spear; KEΦ-AΛ[OY] and star above spear; [ΘEMIΣTO in exergue]. BCD Thessaly II 882.3; HGC 4, 210. Good VF, toned, earthen deposits, die break on obverse, off center on reverse.
