Head of Athena right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet pushed back on head, the bowl embossed with two coiled serpents side-by-side, HP monogram on crest / AΛEΞANΔPOY, Nike walking left, wreath in outstretched right hand, stylis cradled on left arm; griffin seated right in left field below wing. Price -, cf. 2272 for type without double serpent and monogram on helmet. Shimmering, lustrous surfaces with hints of reddish-orange on the reverse. A magnificent specimen with apparently unpublished obverse details and control, along with the rare engraving of Nike walking or flying instead of standing.
