Christian II silver Gulden 1523 VF Details (Scratches) NGC, Malmö mint, Dav-8220. Struck at the Malmö mint in Sweden and long-considered to be the first Taler-sized coin of Scandinavia. This rare offering possesses handsome dove-gray tone throughout, with graphite color having collected at the base of the raised designs. Some minor planchet irregularities are noted in the form of a natural edge crack on the obverse that transects part of the illustration, as well as light scratches located to the right of the crowned coat of arms on the reverse. An important coin that is rarely available in the marketplace, complete with much more detail than expected at this grade level.
