Henry VI (First Reign, 1422-61) gold Noble ND (1422-30) MS62 NGC, Calais mint, 6.95g, S-1802, N-1415. Annulet Issue. Crowned king with sword and shield standing facing in ship, flag at stern, annulet by sword arm / Floriate cross with c in central quadrilobe, annulet in one spandrel and in legends. A rarer type for this early Noble of Henry VI, and in stunning Mint State preservation; bright, lustrous and with superb surfaces, a creamy yellow-gold with crisp details indicative of a strong hammer strike. An exceptional survivor from Calais, the "brightest jewel in the English crown", and the sole certified example by either NGC or PCGS. Worthy of the finest cabinets of English hammered gold.
