NS-23 Canada Province of Nova Scotia 1.6.1861 Proofs. Three proofs from different parts of the printing process are included here. The face, which is a full proof of the issued design is printed in black with a green protector. Red serial numbers are printed, and four POCs are seen on the signature lines, PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. The back is a Progress Proof with just the central design elements of the final design, most importantly, the central vignette of Saint George Slaying the Dragon, PMG Choice Uncirculated 64, with two POCs. Finally, a Progress Proof of the protector only is seen on the third piece of cardstock. It is printed in black ink only, with two POCs, PMG Choice Uncirculated 64.
