BC-36 $1,000 1954 Devil's Face. The first A/K prefix is seen on this always elusive early example, featuring a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II which some saw as having a devious face due to pareidolia. These high denomination notes had a remarkably short print run of only 30,000 notes before public outcry forced the modification and re-release of this denomination. The covered bridge in the village of L'Anse-Saint-Jean, Quebec and the Saguenay River fjord are featured on the back of this enticing example from the Landscape series. An excellent note which only has one note finer in the PMG Census. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64. HID08701242017
