East Africa Currency Board 200 Shillings = £10 15.12.1921 Pick 17cts Color Trial Specimen. A deeper blue underprint is joined by yellow toning on this high denomination which was never issued, at least in large numbers. This grandly sized example from the first 1921 Shilling series served to replace the Florin series, which only had the lower denominations issued. It was mostly likely decided that denominations larger than 100 Shillings would not serve a purpose in circulation, as the 200 Shillings, 1000 Shillings and 10000 Shillings are only known as Specimens and other proposal formats. No serial numbers or signatures are seen on this example. This is the only Color Trial Specimen known of this design in the PMG Census. Pen annotations and pinholes are noted. PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45. From the Feeling Good Collection HID08701242017
