French Antilles Institut d'Emission des Departements d'Outre-Mer 10 Nouveaux Francs on 1000 Francs ND (1961) Pick 2 10 Nouveaux Francs on 1000 Francs ND (1961) Pick 2s Specimen. A wonderful companion pair of this high denomination. The issued example in a Gem grade is especially exhilarating, as its overprinted interim status and large format meant it was quickly replaced just two years later by a smaller design. Both examples exhibit heavy embossing, especially of the repeating print around the border, which includes the names of the three communities which together formed the French Antilles. The Specimen is PCGS Superb Gem New 67PPQ and the issued example is PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ. The issued example is the sole finest in the PMG Census and the specimen beats the finest graded in the PMG Census by one point. HID08701242017
