Great Britain British Military Authority £1 ND (1943-45) Pick M6b Bulgaria Overprint. The BMA issue with the "Bulgaria" overprint is one that all serious military collectors desire. The general consensus is that only 25 of these experimental notes were prepared for Bulgaria, another 25 for Greece, and 50 notes for France. All of the overprinted notes were serial numbered sequentially in the above order and come from the 39Z prefix. The reasons for this short run is unclear, but generally assumed to have been a part of a grand plan. In order to obfuscate the planned North African landings, these three destinations were printed and distributed only to a limited number of officers, who made sure to show them before exchanging them for regular notes. We have never previously handled this low serial number before, making it a welcomed artifact to those deciphering the stories behind these issues. PCGS Choice About New 58PPQ. HID08701242017
