Japan Bank of Japan 1000 Yen ND (1945) Pick 45s3 Specimen. An expedient specimen of this golden note featuring the Takebe Shrine in Shiga Prefecture and legendary prince Yamato Takeru. Though this note was released near the end of World War II to help with the increased demand of banknotes due to inflation, the print quality and "redeemable in gold" clause indicate this design was originally planned with the series of 1930. As a result, the brilliant colors are joined with excellent 3D-like watermarks as expected on all Japanese banknotes. Regular serial numbers, small mihon stamps and four hole cancels are seen. This example is tied as the finest graded of all issued and specimen varieties of this 1000 Yen design. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ. From the Feeling Good Collection HID08701242017

Estimate: 3000-5000 USD
