Qatar Qatar Monetary Agency 500 Riyals ND (1973) Pick 6a. The highest denomination of the first Qatar Riyal series, which replaced the Qatar and Dubai Riyal. Brilliant colors are seen on this modern Thomas De La Rue note, which was considered rare when it was first issued due to the high face value, which was higher than the largest 100 Qatar and Dubai Riyals which circulated before. Traces of embossing of the ornate pattern around the emblem to the right and of the bank titles can still be seen. Ink on the back is noted, but does not distract from the main design.
