Russia Treasury Short Term Certificate 10,000,000 Rubles 1921 Pick 122s Specimen. The highest denomination of this series, issued by the (then pre-Soviet Union) Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. A watermark of the seal of the RSFSR is seen. Though simple in design, these Specimens were most likely created to send to different banks to compare with. These short term obligations were issued as bond-like notes in order to cover government spending, but as inflation increased, they were used in regular circulation. Like contemporary German papiermarks, security features were reduced and notes were printed on only one side to save on costs. PCGS Extremely Fine 45. HID08701242017
