RIC-77; S-6124. "IMP CAES C PESC NIGER IVST AVG" Laureate head of Pescennius Niger facing right; Reverse: "SALVTI AVGVSTI" Salus standing facing right by altar, feeding snake held in her arms. A choice and well preserved example from an emperor whose issues are fraught with roughness and other issues. Reverse is slightly off-center. Good strike with a bold portrait, toned with underlying soft satin luster and quite good eye appeal. NGC Ch AU★, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 4/5.
