AZERBAIJAN. Five Piece 100 Manat Proof Set, 2015. Vienna Mint.
Fr-unlisted; KM-unlisted. Each with a mintage of only 100 pieces. Struck for the First European Games in Baku, and featuring examples for the Kayak, Diving, Archery, Wrestling and Gymnastics events. Each sharing the same design on the reverse depicting the state emblem of Azerbaijan and is a mixture of traditional and modern symbols which is representative of the "land of eternal fire" from its original roots in Zoroastrianism. The year that these were issued also happens to coincide with the 25th Anniversary of their Independence from the U.S.S.R. A nearly perfect set of coins, each attractively designed and containing one Troy ounce of gold. Also included is a detailed official collectors edition stamp booklet which contains 7 small sheets of various denomination stamps many depicting different events.
