FRANCE. Ecu, 1724-V. Troyes Mint. Louis XV (1715-74). NGC MS-65.
Dav-1328; KM-459.20; Gad-319; Dupl-1665; Ciani-2107; Droulers-744; DFW-445. An "ecu de France" of the Troyes mint in Champagne. A miraculous survivor of this more elusive date, with surfaces that are entirely white and showcase incredibly vibrant luster that cartwheels around the central motifs. Upon closer inspection, the designs remain uniformly sharp with surfaces that show some sporadic pebbly texture from the dies, as well as the ghosting of planchet adjustments that were struck out of the flan, but stunningly little evidence of past handling. All considered, one of the finest Ecus of any type to exist from the reign of Louis XV. A real showpiece.

NGC MS-65.

Estimate: $7000.00- $10000.00
