FRANCE. 5 Franc, 1862-A. Paris Mint. NGC MS-63.
Gad-739; KM-799.1; VG-3753. From a mintage of 21,000 pieces. Wonderfully preserved with full brilliance on display in the open fields while the essence of russet tone appears around many of the raised surfaces. Closer inspection yields astounding intricacy within in the reverse coat-of-arms as well as in Napoleon's wavy hair and minor forms of handling confirm the assigned grade. A RARE and incredibly challenging date in certified Mint State, this being one of only two certified by NGC and PCGS combined, with the PCGS-graded coin being an unfathomable MS-67+. NGC MS-63.
