GERMANY. Nurnberg. Goldgulden, 1616. NGC MS-64.
3.21 gms. Fr-1810; KM-31. St. Lawrence standing, holding a gridiron, the instrument of his martyrdom; Reverse: Oval arms in ornate cartouche, date below and upside-down. The goldgulden was typically slightly lighter and lower in fineness than the ducat and this example is no exception. A lovely example of the type with pinpoint detail throughout the design and captivating color atop the dazzling surfaces. As fine as they come, this piece is the single highest graded example at either NGC or PCGS! NGC MS-64.
Estimate: $3000.00- $3600.00
