S-2488; North-1956; Fr-192. 15.42 g. Pomegranate mintmark after queen's name. Queen seated on throne holding orb and scepter; portcullis at her feet; Reverse: Tudor rose with shield. Roman numeral date. Well centered on a round flan with full legends visible and no detracting marks. The light cleaning does not detract from the intricacies of this historic piece, created during the time of "Bloody Mary" and the attempted reversal of the English Reformation.
