GREAT BRITAIN. Eleven Piece Proof Set, 1887. PCGS PROOF-64 CAMEO to PROOF-PROOF-66 CAMEO Secure Holders.
S-PS5; Fr-390a/393a; KM-PS9. 5 Pounds (PCGS PR-64DCAM), 2 Pounds (PCGS PR-64+DCAM), Sovereign (2nd obverse, PCGS PR-64DCAM), 1/2 Sovereign (PCGS PR-65DCAM), Crown (PCGS PR-65), Double Florin (Arabic 1, PCGS PR-65CAM), 1/2 Crown (PCGS PR-65DCAM), Florin (PCGS PR-66CAM), Shilling (PCGS PR-64CAM), 6 Pence (shield reverse, PCGS PR-64CAM), and 3 Pence (PCGS PR-65CAM). The set includes a red leather case from Spink & Son which is likely newer than the coins. Each of the silver issues displays beautiful deep smokey tone over hard flashy proof surfaces and frosted cameo devices. The amalgamation of complementary colors is simply dazzling. A plethora of hues pop out when tilted in the light such as rose, azure, sea foam green, honey gold, russet and magenta. The gold issues on the other hand are all bright, flashy and with a thin veneer of honey gold tone over the hard mirror fields and frosted cameo devices. The overall quality of this well matched set is outstanding with fantastic eye appeal. Clearly a set which sat together for a prolonged period of time undisturbed and as such highly desirable. PCGS PROOF-64 DEEP CAMEO (3), PROOF-65 DEEP CAMEO (1), PROOF-65 (1), PROOF-65 CAMEO (3), PROOF-66 CAMEO (1), & PROOF-64 CAMEO (2). All Secure Holders.

From the Braemore Collection.

Estimate: $30000.00- $40000.00
