GUATEMALA. 8 Reales, 1765-P. Charles III (1759-88). NGC AU-50.
KM-27.1; FC-14; El-17; Gil-G-8-14a. Essentially Mint State, with the assigned AU grade a result of considerable softness in the design detail, in part contributable to the aged state of the dies, but also adjustments marks that are common to the date and run prominently through the reverse centers. Close inspection reveals essentially no highpoint friction, with very few marks in the fields and strong luster visible where deep gray and brown tone lessens; certainly superior to the Rudman specimen in this regard. Altogether, a solid original piece and the KEY DATE to the Guatemalan pillar series. RARE and sure to excite the Guatemalan specialist. NGC AU-50.
Estimate: $5000.00- $6000.00
