HUNGARY. 1/2 Ducat, ND (1690-1751). Kremnitz Mint. NGC MS-63.
Fr-585. Despite the Kremnitz mint being an official Hapsburg mint, the mintmasters there used the facilities to mint gold religious medallions in half ducat to ten ducat sizes which became very popular in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Although unsigned, this type is attributed to Jeremias Roth Sr. This example is a fantastic example thereof, with impressive prooflike gleam in the fields and an unusually sharp portrayal of the Saint George slaying the dragon motif on one side and the Christ on a boat with apostles design on the other. NGC MS-63.
Estimate: $1000.00- $1200.00
