ITALY. Ligurian Republic. 96 Lire, 1801 Year IV. NGC MS-62.
Fr-448; KM-270 (Genoa); Gig-2; Mont-66. A fleeting type, struck for only four years during the French occupation until it was absorbed into the Kingdom of Napoleon in 1805. Enviable quality for the regime's largest denomination, this example showcases designs that are almost entirely complete due to a strong strike and enchanting luster that sparkles over the surfaces. Perhaps most impressive however is the flan, which remains free of the frequently encountered planchet striations and major inclusions that plague the issue. Easily the finest we've seen of this date and corroborated by its finest graded status at NGC and PCGS. An important coin for the Napoleonic specialist. NGC MS-62.

Estimate: $6000.00- $7000.00
