MEXICO. 8 Escudos, 1864-OFR. NGC MS-64.
Fr-74; KM-383.10. Richard Long commented in 2003, "The 1861 and the 1864 are the two common coins of this mint....but BU examples are rare." Our archives turn up two other examples of this date, both circulated. This one is frosty and fully struck except for a weak area by the date; the smooth, mark free fields are really a joy to behold. Far above average. NGC MS-64.
