MEXICO. Pattern 8 Reales Struck in Bronze, 1829-PiJS. PCGS Genuine--Scratch, Unc Details Secure Holder.
KM-Pn20A. Likely of English manufacture as the matrices and punches reside in the Royal Mint. Fully struck with deep chocolate brown patina on the obverse and lighter reverse surfaces that are still retoning after a light past cleaning. A short scratch remains close to the reverse edge at 4 o'clock and is the reason for the "details" grade. Highly collectible as a pattern and perhaps even more so as the only example of this issue we have seen that shows prominent evidence of clashed dies on the reverse.
