NETHERLANDS. Kampen. Noble, ND (1590-93). NGC MS-63.
Fr-151a; Delm-1102. An imitation of an English gold noble of the prior century. Obverse: MON | AVR - CIVI - CAMPEN VALO - | FLAN -, king standing in ship facing, holding sword and shield, a flag at the stern; Reverse: - NISI - DOMINVS - SERVAVERIT - CIVITATEM - FRVSTRA, cross fleuree with lions passant and crowns in angles. Although the flan is typically crude and there are a few small areas of weakness, the overall quality of the strike is outstanding, particularly in the centers. The surfaces exhibit bright mint luster and highlight the details of the engraving nicely. A RARE offering, especially in this stunning preservation. NGC MS-63.
Estimate: $3000.00- $4000.00
