PERU. 8 Escudos, 1730. Philip V (1700-46). NGC AU-58.
Fr-7; KM-38.2; Cal-Type 6#45. 26.98 g. Struck on a broad flan with even yellow gold color and surfaces that are without major instances of contact. As is common for these hammered issues, several areas of softness are observed in the strike, however two legible dates are visible, the first above the waves and divided by the pillars of Hercules, while the second (rarely seen) appears between 10 and 11 o'clock at the legend. Close inspection of both confirms this piece as an overdate as well (likely 30/29), with remnants of a "2" visible beneath the "3" on both dates and what appears to be the base of a "9" below the first date's "0". Sure to draw significant specialist attention as such. NGC AU-58.

Estimate: $8000.00- $10000.00
