PHILIPPINES. 8 Reales, ND (Authorized October 2, 1832, commencing October 5, 1832, officially ending December 20, 1834). PCGS VF-30 Secure Holder.
KM-55; Basso-41. Type V countermark crowned F.7.0 (5-4-1 over *) within circle applied to the reverse. On an 1826-NGM Guatemala (Central American Republic) 8 Reales. Boldly countermarked over the underlying ceiba tree and placed right in between the host coin's denomination. Interesting to note that the central pearl of the crown in the shape of a lozenge has been repunched over a single pearl. This can be further confirmed by the shape and style of the letters and crown and proves that the order of the F.7.0 countermarks is in fact 5-4-*, 5-4-1 and then finally 5-4-!(2). A choice example of the type with old earthen tone over the surfaces and no outlying marks. Scarcer when found on this popular C.A.R host and highly desirable thus. Countermark EF Details, host coin. PCGS VF-30 Secure Holder.
