Fr-4; KM-11. RARE. From a mintage of only 986 pieces. Struck during the Boer War in Transvaal at Pilgrim's Rest with dies manufactured by P. J. Kloppers and unpolished equipment authorized by acting president Schalk Burger. Minor rim filing on obverse at 9 o'clock and edge filing between 5 o'clock and 7 o'clock. Despite the noted defects a handsome presentable example with clear details and date from this crudely engraved rarity. Bright and lustrous with just a hint of tone.
