Banco de Buenos Ayres. 1 Peso, 1823. P-S309, BA-13. PMG Very Fine 25.
The Nusdeo-Conno catalog lists this note (No. 34) as Desconocido (example unknown in Argentina) which is why there is no illustration of it in the Pick catalog. The other three notes in this series are in museums. Engraved by Jose Rousseau, it was easily counterfeited so was a very unpopular issue with limited circulation. This series was the only one with the sun seal of Buenos Ayres. The note is signed by Alvarez-Molina, serial number 213, and is in superb condition for this rarity.
