CARIA, Mylasa. Circa 300-280 BC. AR Drachm (17mm, 4.29 g, 12h). In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; monogram in left field, Π below throne. Thompson, Alexandrine, Period 2, –; Price 2482 corr. (control marks, as 2481; same obv. die as illustration). Near EF, struck from worn dies, small spot of die rust and some porosity on obverse. Extremely rare, one in Pella (the BM specimen), none in CoinArchives.

The BM coin appears to have an H below the throne, as Price notes, but close inspection shows that it is a Π with die wear. Thus, Price 2481 (tetradrachm) and 2482 (drachm), are of the same issue.
