GAUL, Nemausus. Augustus. 27 BC-AD 14. Æ As (24.2mm, 7.67 g, 8h). Contemporary imitation(?). Struck circa 16-10 BC. Heads of Agrippa, wearing combined rostral crown and laurel wreath, and Augustus, bareheaded, back to back; c/m: large M in incuse square (applied twice?) / Crocodile right, chained to palm frond; at top, wreath with long ties; two palm fronds at base; c/m: large M in incuse square. RPC I 523; RIC I 157; c/m: Howgego –. Fine, dark brown patina with areas of red, tan highlights.
