Belgium: "And thy children shall return to their own border" medal, by Jewish medallist A. Ianchelevici (Idel Ianchelevici); ND; bronze/tombak(?); size: 41.75mm; weight: 32.65g. Obverse: man walking through the heart of the sea and a sailboat some distance away from him. Reverse: Latin & Hebrew legend in Rashi script (Jeremiah ch. 31 v. 16): "Revertentur Filii ad Terminos Sous"/"Ve Shavu Banim LeGvulam". Idel Ianchelevici (Yankelevich; 1909-1994) was a Jewish Moldovan-Belgian sculptor, draughtsman and painter. The subject of this medal may be Jewish immigration to Palestine during the Holocaust; its design appears to be from the 1970's. Some spots of surface dirt on reverse.
