Spectacular error (trial?) Israel: Hadassah Hebrew University Medical Center small state medal in silver, 1960/61 - standard 35mm silver issue with combination of minting errors: mis-stamped design on 1960 obverse (with English inscription in field) causing doubled-text at base; 'plug' marks in field (appear when medals continue to be produced from dies that have been invalidated by drilling holes in them - these are known on the "Liberation I" medal series commemorating Israel's 10th Independence Anniversary, 1958/61). On reverse spectacular brockage error with incuse image at 90 degree rotation of 1961 35mm 'Liberation I' medal obverse imprinted over the original Hadassah medal reverse design. Unless this piece is a trial or test piece, the end result of the minting errors has resulted in this medal weighing 10 grams less than the usual silver issue: size: 3.55cm; weight: 20.65g. Probably minted at the Zechovsky mint (1961 issue) as this piece does not say "silver" or "sterling" on the rim.
