Poland: WWI era Zionist Labor Union 3rd Congress sheet-stamped copper token, 1917; not maker-marked; size: 3cm; weight: 8.75g. Obverse: Star of David with dot in center; double-ring Hebrew legend "Third Congress of the Zionist Labor Union in Poland"; small Star of David at base. Reverse: Star of David at center; double-ring with Hebrew dates of the Congress "12-17 [month of] Cheshvan 5678" (28 Oct. - 2 Nov. 1917). In post-war Poland Hebrew schools began to organize themselves under the name "The Hebrew Movement"; this Congress created a board of governors for the elementary schools; by 1922 it led to establishment of the famous East European "Tarbut" school system.
