The copy includes original manifest published on the day of Israel's declaration of Independence, outlining the structure and function of the new independent government, and the new government's repudiation of the Mandate's 'White Paper' of 1939 and limitation on the right to purchase land and bear weapons; it includes 3 more 'orders of the day' from May-June 1948, establishing the Israel Defence Forces (order #4), the foundation of the new national authority (#5), and the days of rest (the Sabbath; order #6); and the "Transition Law" of February 1949 establishing the 'Knesset' as the Israeli State's legislative body.
