Color French map of "Palestine" (in French & Hebrew) c.1812, copper engraved by Jean Baptiste Marie Chamouin & drawn by Giraldon + 2 inlay maps of the "Kingdom of the Israelites under David & Solomon" and "The Twelve Tribes" of Israel by Malte-Brun, on thick milled paper; this may originate from the book "Atlas Complet du Précis de la Géographie Universelle", Paris, 1812 edition, however this edition is with hand colored outline and uncolored vignette; size: 34 x 25.1cm. Near-mint condition with little toning; small crease at point in left edge, otherwise almost flawless edges. The cartographer, Conrad Malte-Brun (1775-1826), born Malthe Conrad Bruun (also known as Malte-Brun), was a Danish-French geographer and journalist. His second son, Victor Adolphe Malte-Brun, was also a geographer. Rare as French map with Hebrew usage.
