Chimen Abramsky, one of the publisher's founders was a leading member of the Communist Party of Great Britain & ran a Jewish bookstore - also son of Rabbi Yehezkel Abramsky, head of London's Beth Din (the chief religious court for Jews in Britain), who in 1956 had won the first Israel Prize for Rabbinic literature; the grandson of Rabbi Moshe Nahum Jerusalimsky & great-grandson of Rabbi Yaakov David Willowski.
