Eve World War I: 6x of set of 7 color-illustrated "Official Field Postcards of the Imperial Bavarian 14th 'Hartmann' Infantry Regiment on the Occasion of its 100th Anniversary, Nürnberg 11-13 July 1914", in original illustrated envelope; artwork by Anton Hoffman of Munich depicting the unit in various recent periods; reverse side of postcard bears the special commemorative message & is labelled "official field postcard of the regiment". The First World War broke out on the 28th of the month; this unit was assigned to the 9th Bavarian infantry brigade, itself a part of the 5th Royal Bavarian Division, and was mobilized for war in August. 6pcs; the postcards are intact, envelope is complete but with edge wear & corner tears.
