The authorship of the 'DIXI CUSTODIAM' is still uncertain, and whilst attributed to Thomas Rawlins in most recent publications, Luke Syson, 'Designs on Posterity: Drawings for Medals', FIDEM 1992, British Art Medal Trust, 1994: p.230, 4e, clearly attributes it back to Thomas Simon.
