A note from BCD: It is difficult to write something impersonal about this noble firm and specifically Madame Kapamadji who took over when the last Jules Florange passed away in 1950, to steer the company to a gentle and at the same time respectable closure. Serge Boutin was the obvious choice to handle her beloved late Roman gold collection that she never hesitated to show to anyone who paid her a visit. This writer will always treasure the memory of a first visit to 17, rue de la Banque as a totally unknown novice collector, to be received with such kindness, grace and charm that it was impossible to leave without buying a coin, now lot 512 in BCD Boiotia.
