A note from BCD: Of great importance for pedigree research because, unlike the Greek series, the coins pictured on these plates were not repeated in an SNG. A note by Baldwin's at the preface reveals Lockett as someone who was attracted to Roman Provincials: "Mr. Lockett started this Roman collection late in life and did so to form a portrait gallery to help him in many cases to identify some of his Greek colonial issues". ...How he would have enjoyed living in our day and age, surrounded by his volumes of RPC...
