A note from BCD: Karl Kress took over from Otto Helbing before WWII and continued offering plentiful collector material up to the mid 80's. The company would accept practically anything for their auctions and as a result the mixture of coins, seals, gemstones and the odd object never ceases to surprise the reader. The preponderance of ancient coins in their auctions is an indication that already in the 50's Munich was a thriving market for such merchandise. This catalogue has half a plate of Greek and Roman and a whole plate of Chinese ancients.
