A note from BCD: It appears that, due to the prevailing irregular war conditions, cataloguing for this auction took place in batches, as the material was coming in. A total of about 600 Roman coin lots were auctioned, the quantities of Greek and Byzantine being almost negligible compared to that figure. The first of the two plates illustrates five of the finest Roman bronzes of the sale. A rare catalogue.
