AUCTION CATALOGUES. Lempertz, Kunst-Auktionshaus Math (Inhaber P. Hanstein). Köln, 23 February 1926. 237. Münzen-Sammlung des Herrn Van Vleuten, Bonn. I. Teil: Griechen, Römer, Byzantiner. 2243 lots, 90 pages, 14 tissue-guarded plates. (21.5x27cm) Original illustrated card covers, shelf wear and stained, corners bumped. Good. Spring 409
A note from BCD: Although the 668 Greek lots, the best of which are illustrated on three plates, offer nothing special in terms of rarity or quality, the 1440 Roman lots that follow, of which the finest and most interesting are shown on ten more plates, are a significant collection. Then come 72 Byzantine lots and 15 Paduan imitations, not considered important enough to deserve photography. The sale ends with 37 lots of Numismatic Literature.
