AUCTION CATALOGUES. Santamaria, P. & P. Rome, Anno 1, N. 1 (Jul-Aug 1935). Numismatica e Scienze Affini. Rivista Bimestrale, also includes a fixed price list. 24 pages. Monete e Medaglie in Vendita a Prezzi Segnati. 198 numbers. (23x29.5cm) Printed heavy paper covers as issued, shelf worn. Very Good.

A note from BCD: This is the inaugural issue and as such quite rare, of an elegant house magazine that published scholarly articles across the entire range of numismatics. It also offered coins at fixed prices, served as a forum for subscriber questions and answers, published hoard and forgery news and would describe the contents of all auction catalogues and lists of dealers that would come to the attention of the editor. It ceased publication in 1954 but was "reborn" in a non-commercial guise as "Numismatica" in 1960, to survive another six years. However, in 1951, the "Listini" took over Santamaria's commercial mail business and continued their publication until the late 80's.
