A note from BCD: This third London auction of Vecchi was an ambitious attempt to sell a collection specializing in an obscure and difficult series of Roman coins. A two page scholarly introduction in French by Michel Amandry and four plates of enlargements added some prestige to an otherwise narrowly focused catalogue. The last 26 lots were Republican provincial issues, much more popular today.
