MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Alexander III the Great (336-323 BC). AV stater (19mm, 8.57 gm, 2h). NGC Choice XF 5/5 - 5/5. Uncertain mint in Greece or Macedon, ca. 325-310 BC. Head of Athena right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet pushed back on head, the bowl decorated with coiled serpent / AΛEΞANΔPOY, Nike standing left, wreath in outstretched right hand, stylis cradled on left arm; Corinthian helmet in left field. Price 794. Very Rare. Well centered with a bold strike. Only 4 examples that this cataloger could find online. Includes old collector tag stating that the coin was purchased at AH Baldwin, in London, February of 1948.
