MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Alexander III The Great (336-323 BC). AV quarter stater (11mm, 2.14 gm, 1h). NGC Choice XF 5/5 - 2/5, ex-jewelry. Lifetime or early posthumous issue of 'Amphipolis', 330-320 BC. Head of Athena right, wearing triple-crested Corinthian helmet pushed back on head, the bowl adorned with coiled serpent / ΑΛΕΞΑΝ/ΔΡΟΥ, thunderbolt and bow above club. Price 165. A very pleasing example of this scarce denomination, with even wear.
