ATTICA. Athens. Ca. 165-42 BC. AR tetradrachm (32mm, 16.86 gm, 12h). NGC AU 5/5 - 5/5. New style coinage, ca. 136/5 BC, Hera-, Aristoph- and Philo-, magistrates. Head of Athena right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet decorated with Pegasus above upturned cheek flap, vine scroll on bowl, protomes of four horses on visor / Α-ΘΕ / HPA / API-ΣTOΦ / ΦΙΛΩ, owl standing facing on overturned amphora decorated with E (5th month); lion-skin on club and bow in case in left field, MI (engraver's initials) below, all within olive wreath. HGC 4, 1602. Thompson 334. Svoronos -. Well struck and centered with full beading on obverse. Satiny surfaces with pink toning.
