SELEUCID KINGDOM. Demetrius II Nicator, first reign (146-138 BC). AR tetradrachm (30mm, 15.90 gm, 1h). NGC MS 4/5 - 3/5. Antioch, dated SE 168 (145/4 BC). Diademed head of Demetrius II right, caps of the Dioscuri behind, fillet border / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ ΘΕΟΥ ΦΙΛΑΔΕΛΦΟΥ ΝΙΚΑΤΟΡΟΣ, Apollo seated left on omphalus, testing arrow held in right hand and resting left hand on grounded bow, ΠΑ monogram in inner left field, HA monogram between Apollo's legs, date ΗΞΡ in exergue. SC 1907.1d. Decidedly scarce in high grade. Struck in high relief, with a youthful portrait.
